👥 Eligibility

Resident of our Wyoming or South Dakota service area.
 
High school senior (’26)
 
2.5+ GP.
 
Preference for students pursuing ag, trades, energy, business, or rural health/education.

What We Look For

We fund students who lift rural communities. Your story matters more than perfect grades. Tell us how you’ve contributed and how this support helps you go further.

✔ Leadership in FFA/4‑H, school, work, or family responsibilities
✔ Clear educational goals (college or trade)
✔ Financial need and thoughtful use of funds
✔ Connection to cooperative values: integrity, service, stewardship

Required Materials

• One short personal essay (min 500 words) on your goals and community impact.
 
• One letter of recommendation (coach, teacher, employer, advisor, etc.)
 
• Resume or activity list (work, volunteer, FFA/4‑H, clubs, sports).
 
• Optional: proof of CBH member/account relationship in family or employer.

High school seniors  who live in the CBH CO‑OP service area in Wyoming or South Dakota. See full eligibility above.

Do I have to study agriculture?

No. We prioritize youth in agriculture and rural vitality, but welcome programs like business, diesel tech, welding, engineering, nursing, teaching, and more.

Do I need to be a CBH member?

Not required. A connection to CBH or cooperative values is a plus but not mandatory.

How are applications judged?

Using a 100‑point rubric weighing mission alignment, community impact, leadership, financial need, and essay clarity.

When will I hear back?

Notifications typically go out within 3–4 weeks after the deadline.
