CBH CO-OP Helps Bring Critical Relief to Ranchers Affected by Campbell County Wildfires

The recent wildfires in Campbell County, particularly the Constitution and Flat Rock fires, have taken a devastating toll on local ranchers. As flames swept across vast stretches of grazing land, many ranchers found themselves in a desperate situation—needing hay to feed their livestock but facing significant shortages.

In response to this crisis, CBH CO-OP, with its deep roots in the agricultural community, took immediate action to assist those in need. By coordinating efforts with local ranchers and other agricultural organizations, CBH CO-OP successfully helped bring in 14 loads of hay to support the affected ranchers.

A Community Effort

This endeavor was a true testament to the power of community support. As soon as the fires were contained, it became clear that the ranching community needed immediate assistance. Livestock, already stressed by the fires, faced further challenges with destroyed grazing pastures. Without adequate feed, the livelihood of these ranchers would be at risk.

CBH CO-OP worked alongside ranchers, donors, and logistics teams to source, transport, and distribute hay. The 14 loads of hay arrived just in time, providing essential feed for cattle and helping ranchers bridge the gap until they could make more long-term recovery plans.

Supporting Local Agriculture

For CBH CO-OP, supporting local ranchers is more than just a business—it’s a mission. The CO-OP understands the critical role that agriculture plays in Campbell County’s economy and the lives of its residents. The timely arrival of hay was part of CBH CO-OP’s ongoing commitment to serving the agricultural community, even in the face of unexpected disasters.

Looking Forward

The wildfires have left their mark on the landscape and the community, but with efforts like this, there’s hope for a full recovery. CBH CO-OP remains committed to supporting ranchers not just in times of crisis but every day, offering resources, expertise, and a helping hand whenever it’s needed.

As Campbell County begins the long process of rebuilding, CBH CO-OP will continue to stand by the side of local ranchers, ensuring that they have the support necessary to keep their operations running smoothly. The 14 loads of hay are just the beginning of this recovery, and CBH CO-OP will be there every step of the way.

A Special Thanks

This effort could not have been possible without the generosity and hard work of many individuals and organizations. CBH CO-OP extends its deepest thanks to everyone involved, from the hay donors to the drivers who transported the loads. Together, we are stronger, and together, we can rebuild.

In times like these, it’s clear that the strength of our agricultural community lies in its willingness to help one another. CBH CO-OP is proud to be a part of that tradition.
